Carrie Fisher and Debbie Reynolds Public Memorial Touches Hearts
For many, the death of Debbie Reynolds and Carrie Fisher is still hard and yesterday the public memorial for the stars took place.
On March 25th, the public memorial for Carrie Fisher and Debbie Reynolds took place. Todd Fisher, the son of Debbie and brother of Carrie, organized the event and had it opened to the public, saying it was what they would have wanted.
And it was quite the heartbreaking tribute. While members of the family were there, Billie Lourd did not show up and sources were saying that it was still to fresh for her. Understandably so. Still, the memorial was touching and had tributes to each star as well as wristbands that Todd handed out beforehand.
They even showed the picture that someone drew of Carrie as Leia standing with Debbie in her quintessential yellow outfit. From what we could see, the memorial was beautiful and touching but there was also a sadness to it.
Not only were fans sad because their favorites had passed away but James Blunt released a song he wrote about Carrie. He had lived at her house in Los Angeles and knew the star really well. And his beautiful song is an extremely touching tribute to her.
“We live, we breathe
We hope, we bleed
We love, we lose
We die”
As I have said before, I got to meet Carrie and it was truly an amazing experience. She was a one of a kind person and the world is most definitely darker without her.
