On the year anniversary of the Brussels attacks, London is facing their own storm of terror attacks near the UK Parliament.

There was a terror attack in London earlier today. A car jumped the curb on the Westminster bridge and mowed down pedestrians and some were killed outside of Parliament. Huge sections of the city are on lock down and the gates to Buckingham Palace are closed.

One pedestrian gave his recount of the view from the bridge to CNN, saying: “I stood in shock and saw carnage around me and the car carrying on up the bridge.” Rob Lyon had just left his hotel and was walking across the bridge when he saw the car jump the curb.

He thought that it was a driver who had suffered a heart attack but instead watched as the car dragged people across the bridge as it made its journey to Parliament. Lyon made the following statement about those left on the bridge once the car had continued:

"“People had already gathered. I gave my coat to the lady on the floor so she could use it like a pillow . I was ushered by police towards a van so they could take statements, that sort of thing.”"

Here is what CNN has as what we currently know about the situation.

  • Police: 3 people, including a police officer, killed. At least 20 injured.
  • Large section of central London in lockdown.
  • Gates to Buckingham Palace closed.
  • Social media video shows bodies on Westminster bridge.
  • Car crashed into Parliament perimeter fence.
  • Witnesses describe pedestrians mowed down by car.
