Seth Meyers vs Stephen Colbert: Trump is Running Scared

facebooktwitterreddit

We’re learning slowly but surely of the fear that Donald Trump has and Seth Meyers and Stephen Colbert continue to tackle what is happening.

Stephen Colbert and Seth Meyers didn’t have too long of segments last night but they’ve taken on Trump and his feels of the Monday on a Tuesday. Or at least that’s what Colbert likened it to.

With Stephen, he took on the leaks and how the Trump administration seems to be running scared. They are, apparently, trying to keep their information away from the press but that doesn’t seem to be working. Colbert also talked about Jeff Sessions opposition to legalized marijuana. According to Sessions, marijuana is in legal with heroin.

Who knew!

Seth did a segment that was very much akin to his days on the Weekend Update desk. They were jokes that had a great set up with a cheesy punchline and show us what Meyers is great at.

But where Seth went that Colbert didn’t was his investigation of Neil Gorsuch. He talked about the past jobs that Gorsuch has had and the jokes ended up making this one of the funniest segment Seth has had in a while.

He just listed a bunch of random things that Neil Gorsuch kind of looked like and ran with it. And weirdly, it worked.

Neither had particularly long segments and they didn’t really talk about the same things but they still had great points about what is going on in the Trump administration.

Both of these men try day in and day out to take on Trump and they’re doing an incredible job. (Meanwhile, Trump is praising Jimmy “Hair-Ruffler” Fallon as the best late night host out there. It’s not a coincidence that Fallon hasn’rt the nerve to mention Trump’s name most nights.) With the way late night television is heading, Meyers and Colbert are proving their worth and making themselves some of the best on television currently.
