Filming has Wrapped for Marvel’s The Defenders
By I. A. Melton
Over the weekend Marvel The Defenders has wrapped filming has wrapped so does that mean it will make its summer premiere?
Big news for Netflix. No, we’re not talking about the horrible reviews for Iron Fist. It looks like the much anticipated Netflix superhero team-up The Defenders has wrapped filming. It feels just like yesterday we announce shooting began, but that was actually over three months ago. I think everyone has been so focused on how Iron Fist would measure up to Daredevil, Jessica Jones and Luke Cage that we forgot about it. We will don’t have a premiere date forThe Defenders, but it’s slated for summer 2017.
The Defenders wrap party was a very low-key event. Many of the stars of the show didn’t talk about it on social media. Matter of fact, no one knew the wrap party had taken place until The Defenders actress, Elodie Yung (Elektra) posted a picture on her Instagram account.
Here is the picture from Elodie Yung.
You have to wonder with all the flack Iron Fist got from fans and critics, if The Defenders will be under more scrutiny. Only time will tell, but if we start hearing about re-shoots, I’m officially going to start getting worried. The Marvel shows on Netflix have been extremely solid up till this point. I think Iron Fist series can be salvaged with The Defenders. It’s a lot to ask from a show that has four superheroes, but I have faith in them.
