Harry James Potter and Sirius Black: The Importance of Their Relationship

When it comes to the relationship between Harry Potter and Sirius Black, it is an important one in the series but why do we care so much about it?

We have talked about before how important Sirius Black is to the series. But what is it about his relationship with Harry that is so important? As it has been made clear by the amount of times I’ve talked about it, Sirius Black and his influence on Harry Potter was (and still is) very important to me.

Mainly because Sirius was the first figure in Harry’s life that truly seemed to care about Harry. Not about what he could do or what he was destined to become. Yes, there is the argument that he saw Harry as just the son of his best friend but there was something deeper to their relationship.

Sirius had a sense of connection with Harry. He would look out for him in a way that wasn’t just a sense of loyalty to James and Lily. He wanted to be a part of Harry’s life because he loved him like the son he never had.

And even in the short time that Harry seemed to know him, they grew close and created a bond that stood the test of the rest of the book series. To the point where Harry saw him when he used the Resurrection stone on his way to his death. Their relationship changed Harry for the better and made him a better person because of it.

So as has been made clear, Harry Potter and Sirius Black had a very important relationship. One that should have been honored with at least a first name of one of Harry’s sons.
