There is no other mother/daughter team more iconic than these two Gilmore girls. They are the most well loved and certainly the most well-known.The chemistry between these two is what makes them the classic mother daughter duo.

Mom, Lorelai, got pregnant when she was sixteen, and fled her WASPy, upper-class family to raise her daughter in the quirky neighboring town of Stars Hollow. On their own, they started a life away from all the stuffy wealth Lorelai grew up with. However, they were forced to ask for financial help when Rory is accepted to private school.

The best part about these two and their relationship is that it always felt like them against the world. They were polar opposites, but no matter how much they fought and feuded, they always came back together to duel the world at large.

Endless inside jokes and references, the Gilmore girls were a package deal, even as Rory grew up and faced her own adulting challenges. They loved each other fiercely, and sometimes held on a little too tightly, but at the end of the day, they were always there for each other. Which kind of feels like the understatement of the century.
