There’s something about unforeseen and absurd circumstances that will bring a daughter closer to her mother. In this instance Jane, the virgin, was accidentally inseminated with her unsuspecting crush’s sperm, and wound up pregnant with his baby.

As the daughter of a teen mom, Jane decided to keep and raise the baby, but as a young woman, living at home with her mother and grandmother, it was going to be a long, hard road. Here’s where her mother Xiomara comes in.

Young, vibrant, and still in the prime of her life, she could have easily slipped into a caricature of an irresponsible, oversexed, middle-aged woman, reliving her youth. Instead, her relationship with her daughter was one of mutual respect and love.

Since they pretty much grew up together, they formed an incredibly special and unique bond. That doesn’t mean that they didn’t argue or fight. Jane and Xo are very different people, but they are unconditionally supportive and encouraging.
