Are you ready for the NCAA Tournament? The Gonzaga Bulldogs are! They earned the No. 1 seed in the West. Here’s how their run has been up to March Madness…

March Madness is here! The first four out will be determined soon, meanwhile the Gonzaga Bulldogs are preparing for the start of their 19th trip to the tourney. On Selection Sunday, it was announced that the Bulldogs had indeed earned the number 1 seed in the West region. Not that it wasn’t already clinched long before Selection Sunday.

First off, they have won the West regional finals for the past four years, but this is only their second top seed selection. They played their asses off this season and pulled through it with a 32-1 record. Their one and only loss was to BYU, just as the regular season closed. However, this didn’t slow them down for long. They came right back and clinched that seed by winning their 5th straight WCC Tournament Title. Here’s what SB Nation had to say about that win…

"Gonzaga stated its final case for being a No. 1 seed when the NCAA Tournament bracket is revealed on Sunday by pasting No. 19 Saint Mary’s, 74-56, in the West Coast Conference championship game Tuesday night in Las Vegas."

The Bulldogs have made it into the NCAA tournament 19 times, but have yet to win a championship. Let’s take a look at their history during March Madness… They have had 19 appearances, 8 second rounds, 5 Sweet Sixteens, and only 2 Elite Eight’s. It appears that the biggest question is can the Gonzaga Bulldogs make it through the Elite Eight and beyond.
