3. Jim Gaffigan: Cinco

Jim Gaffigan is one of the most recognizable names in comedy today, and that’s why his Netflix special, Cinco (out now), is number three on our list of the 15 Netflix comedy specials we highly recommend. Gaffigan’s brand of humor may be pretty topical, considering the times – Hot Pockets, a big Irish-American family with lots of kids, and pizza are just a few of his preferred topics of conversation – but, frankly, not every comedian needs to curse like a sailor in order to be funny.

You could argue, successfully, that Jim Gaffigan’s “King of Clean Comedy” routine is revolutionary in and of itself, considering how absolutely filthy some comedians can be (and, conversely, it’s that shock value that makes them funny, rather than the actual content of their humor). Gaffigan’s biggest comedic influence, by his own admission, is Jerry Seinfeld, so he can’t be that bad.
