What’s Next For Bette & Joan? Feud S1E2 Trailer and Synopsis Gives Hints

Feud: Bette and Joan is back for its second episode, which promises behind-the-scenes high drama. The full trailer and synopsis are included below!

It was clear from the first episode of Feud that the men involved, whether they be directors, studio heads, or even husbands, weren’t making being a woman in Hollywood any easier. In fact, several scenes of the pilot centered around just how not easy they tried to make it. They’d insist upon younger actresses. Or they’d focus on the women’s sexual appeal (or implied lack thereof) instead of their ideas. And they were fairly, if not completely, unhelpful when it came to tampering down the impending fire of the Bette/Joan feud. But as we’re about to learn, they weren’t only resistant to quelling the drama — they were actually stoking the fire.

Check out the trailer below:

In the above clip, it’s clear our focus this week will be on the men in power. Obviously, they plan to use that power to divide our women and ensure they remain, well, powerless. But lest we forget, we’re dealing with Bette Davis and Joan Crawford here. They exude power with every one-liner or puff of a cigarette they execute. And it seems as though, at least this week, they’re ready to take on any challenge the men throw at them — even if that means putting aside their huge differences to conspire.

The official synopsis, which doesn’t give us much but does offer a tiny bit of insight into our next steps, surely leaves us desperate for more. Here is the synopsis for Feud, courtesy of TV Guide.

"“With production on Baby Jane underway, Bette and Joan form an alliance, but outside forces conspire against them.”"

And considering we’ve got 7 episodes to go, for better or for worse, we can bet that this week’s sudden collaboration will fizzle out faster than Bette’s cigarette on Joan’s dressing room door.
