YOUNG & HUNGRY – Freeform’s “Young & Hungry” stars Emily Osment as Gabi Diamond. (Freeform/Eric McCandless) BABY DADDY – Freeform’s “Baby Daddy” stars Jean-Luc Bilodeau as Ben. (Freeform/Craig Sjodin)

6. Gabi Diamond (Young & Hungry) and Ben Wheeler (Baby Daddy)

At this point, rooting for Gabi and Josh to finally get things figured out feels like a fool’s errand. Through four seasons, the two have kept hitting the “close but not quite” marker. Josh’s commitment issues kept him from fully getting close to Gabi, always leaving her waiting and hoping. On the other side of the Freeform pond, Ben Wheeler has had his own bad luck in finding Emma a mother. Hard as fans may hope, it doesn’t look like Riley will be trading Wheeler brothers again either. Maybe Ben has just been looking on the wrong coast. He could use a no-baggage relationship, and Gabi seriously needs someone a bit more emotionally mature than Josh.

With Young & Hungry and Baby Daddy being on the same network, this is a crossover that could happen more feasibly. Now, if Ben’s real life counterpart Jean-Luc Bilodeau had things his way, Ben wouldn’t end up with anyone. But a girl needs a mom, and no one would understand this better than Gabi. She could be good for both Wheelers. Over the course of their shows, Gabi and Ben have each grown up a lot. But they haven’t completely grown up, and this would create a hilarious, fun dynamic between the two. A few poor decisions might get laced in there, but more than likely the duo could help one another continue to grow.
