3. Veronica Lodge (Riverdale) and Alison DiLaurentis (Pretty Little Liars)

It’s no secret that Ali ran the show at Rosewood high prior to her disappearance. But imagine Veronica Lodge at her side, and things could have been very different. Described as “intelligent and confident” Veronica was introduced to fans as “a silver-tongued high school sophomore…eager to reinvent herself after a scandal.” That silver tongue was put on clear display during her cheerleading tryout with BFF Betty in Riverdale‘s pilot. When HBIC Cheryl goes after Betty, Veronica is having none of it. She immediately calls Cheryl out on her privilege and scare tactics. A similar “reckoning” from Veronica would be good for Alison DiLaurentis every now and again.

That’s not to say Veronica doesn’t have a dark side, similar to Ali. Camila Mendes, the actress bringing Veronica to life, told ComicBook.com, that viewers might see it again soon. Describing her old self as “when she was crazier,” Ali would be the perfect person to help Veronica reign in the crazy, and focus on the manipulation. It’d be the perfect balance of light and dark for both ladies. It is important to acknowledge the shipping camps already set up, rooting for Veronica to end up with Betty, and Alison to end up with Emily. But there’s real potential in the idea of #Valison. Both women live in towns overflowing with gossip and murder. Both have a knack for “reinventing” themselves. And, without a doubt, both are fiercely loyal to their best friends.
