Transitioning into a vampire was never in the cards for Elena Gilbert – she’d been willing and ready to die many times before, but never wanted the vampire life. Still, it inevitably happened, and she didn’t take to it easily – a sire bond and some blood intake issues plagued her, for one. Still, went a hunter named Connor came to town as part of a mythical hunter group called “The Five” and stirred up plenty of trouble – like a hostage situation at the Mystic Grill with Jeremy and others – she refused to sit back.

Human Elena was badass – but vampire Elena was straight up lethal, and I, for one, lived for it. As a vampire, all the emotions that Elena had always felt but could control better were running rampant – including anger and aggression. She was mad at the world, mad at Connor, mad at Stefan, and she was done being told to sit back and stay safe. She was no princess to be locked away in a tower.

She was a warrior, and she would not be sidelined.
