8. Can Bran Fix It? Yes He Can!

All together now: Braaaan the Builder!

Of all the Game of Thrones theories, this is one that’s actually based in source material. According to the A Song of Ice and Fire series, Bran the Builder was the founder of Winterfell, and he helped build The Wall 8,000 years prior to the events covered in the Game of Thrones TV series to keep the White Walkers out.

We’ve already seen that Bran Stark can see into both the past and the future, and he can influence both. Remember “hold the door”?

If that’s the case, then Bran Stark may simply be an incarnation of Bran the Builder that’s traveled into the future to make things right for his fellow Westerosi in the past. It’s a bit of a mind-bender worthy of Doctor Who, to be sure, but it’s not an impossible theory at all, especially since we’ve seen how Bran was able to see – and influence – the creation of Hodor.

Besides, all the way back in Season 1, when Bran was first injured at the hands of Jamie Lannister, his caretaker loved to read stories to him in order to keep him occupied.
