Victoria Season 1, Episode 7 Synopsis: The Royal Baby Arrives

The first season of Victoria will come to an end this weekend, but it’s also finally time for the royal family to grow by one.

In the first season of Victoria, we’ve seen the young queen move beyond sleeping in the same bedroom as her mother, to a queen regnant, to also a married woman, and, soon enough, also a parent to a child. (One imagines that she’ll be happy to go back to the bedroom with Albert, too, though. We presume she’ll try other methods than jumping next time around.)

Anyway, the season finale has the title of “Young England,” which could refer to Victoria or even her unborn as of now on this series baby. After all, the child will be her heir.

Here’s the synopsis, according to PBS:

"‘On the verge of delivering her first child, Victoria spurns advice and ventures among her subjects, attracting the devoted and demented alike. Miss Skerrett and Francatelli reach their decisive moment.”"

Three guesses who suggests that Victoria go out among the commoners, and the first two almost certainly don’t count. Then again, wouldn’t Albert probably be against this as well, since he seems to be in the camp that advocates for pregnant women to do nothing at all? He likely has some research to support it, too.

As for Skerrett and Francatelli, it strikes us that he will probably present her with some more delightful and beautiful sugary delights and possibly some sort of confession? Then again, we know Miss Skerrett still has some secrets of her own, and it could be that those secrets come out, ruining her chances at happiness.

All will unfold Sunday night on PBS (though you may, as always, want to double-check the air time and airdate). Unfortunately, we’ll only have a one-hour finale to enjoy this weekend.
