How I Met Your Mother

I kind of wished that How I Met Your Mother Finale had never really happened. Ted’s reveal about Robin wasn’t the satisfying way to end all those years of build up. I felt robbed when we realized the “Mother” died, and “Aunt Robin” was the love of his life. Ugh… Why couldn’t it just be called “How I Met Your Aunt Robin.” For such an interesting and well-performing show, that finale felt a little lazy. So I’d like to reimagine it all together!

The kids’ mother didn’t die of cancer. And obviously, Ted certainly couldn’t show up at Robin’s door with a French horn. He couldn’t have done these things because when he showed up at her door, he would have found Barney. They belong together, and I won’t be told otherwise.

Barney and Robin are raising Barney’s child Ellie — her mother is the one that died of cancer. They are blissfully happy and spend their time talking about their love and canoodling.

Marshal and Lily divorced a little after we left them. They remain friends, but they both grew weary of the other’s crap. So they decided it would be easier to co-parent from separate lives. They live across the street from each other, and they are still the best of friends. It’s all very grown up.

Ted and the Mother are raising those inexplicably patient kids. They live down the street from Lily and Marshall, and Ted’s daughter often babysits for them. Robin and Barney are looking at houses in the same neighborhood, and are seriously considering putting an offer on a cute little Ranch-style on the same block.
