Sopranos

In the history of all season finales, the Sopranos‘ last episode might be the least satisfying every. As gritty and compelling as this drama was, the ending as an anti-climactic, disrespectful mess. Last we saw Tony and crew, they were sitting together in a diner. All of the sudden Journey comes on the jukebox and the screen fades to back. Screams were heard nationwide.

After the years of close calls and near scrapes, Tony left the crime business. He and Carmella live a quiet life in their New Jersey mansion, although they still pay for everything in cash. Their relationship is that of a tense truce, with each leading their own lives on their own time. They come together when Meadow brings the grandchildren, and have figured out a way to be a family through these new additions.

AJ didn’t do as well as expected in his career as a Hollywood-type and returned home to work in the Mafia-related family business. Too inept to be considered for Boss, he lives a relatively comfortable life as a mid-level player, velour track suit and all.

Meadow fulfilled her promises to fight for those victimized by the federal government. She exclusively takes on cases involving Italian-Americans, and she’s a partner in her firm. She’s the first Italian-American woman to ever even be considered for that position.
