Josh Groban and his voice have caused more babies than a Madison Avenue fertility clinic. Now, with “Evermore,” there’ll be a record-breaking birth rate!
Now, we’re not trying to suggest anything untoward, but the report from our sister site, Entertainment Weekly, certainly has us sitting up and taking notice.
Josh Groban was commissioned to sing one of three new songs, “Evermore,” by the studio that’s bringing us the much-promoted live-action version of the Disney classic, Beauty and the Beast. The song, which was written by Alan Menken and Tim Rice, features amazing lyrics and pining for true love.
Try not to melt when you hear Josh Groban sing these lyrics.
"“Now I know she’ll never leave me, even as she fades from view.”"
While Josh Groban’s version appears in both the end credits of the film and the soundtrack, The Beast (played by Dan Stevens) will be singing the song in the actual film itself.
The Beast sings this song, reportedly, right after he releases Belle (played by Emma Watson) and allows her to go home.
There’s no word yet on when the other two new songs from the hit film will premiere, the soundtrack — which will feature this new Josh Groban track — will drop on March 10th, a week before the film’s premiere.
And while the movie is certainly causing controversy — for all the wrong reasons — there certainly can be no controversy about this new song being like manna from heaven. It’s the soothing salvo that we didn’t know we needed, but now that it’s here, we couldn’t be happier to have it. So thank you, Josh Groban, for this song that has caused our internal organs to explode with glee.
