While many of us have always suspected LeFou’s true feelings for Gaston for years, it seems that the new live-action movie are confirming his feelings.

As children, most of us wondered why LeFou was so in love with Gaston. Yes he was supposed to be the most attractive man in that small provincial town but still, there was something more to his love. And now Disney is apparently taking on the task of revealing his true feelings in the new live-action Beauty and the Beast.

According to Mugglenet, there was an interview with Attitude magazine where Josh Gad and director Bill Condon expressed their idea for LeFou and how he would be the first exclusively gay Disney character.

"LeFou is somebody who on one day wants to be Gaston and on another day wants to kiss Gaston … he’s confused about what he wants. It’s somebody who’s just realising that he has these feelings. And Josh makes something really subtle and delicious out of it.And that’s what has its pay-off at the end, which I don’t want to give away."

This is just a sweet spin on this character. Especially for the LGBTQ community. Josh, who was clearly a big reason this happened, even expressed how proud he was of this change to LeFou on Twitter.

We are extremely excited about the movie but this just makes that excitement grow. With how the world is, it is nice to have something sweet like this in a story we all know and love.
