Witney Carson: Chris Katten, the comedian/recent TV series actor
Chris Katten’s main claim to fame is the years he spent on Saturday Night Live. With their stock going up lately, perhaps that’s why the producers invited him. But his run ended well over ten years ago. Since then he also got a regular role in the comic series The Middle, and he’s been in plenty of other things, but nothing else that really stands out. He was once known for being in a certain movie call A Night at the Roxbury, but no one remembers that anymore. Dancing with the Stars has seen plenty of comedians over the years. They rarely get anywhere on their dancing technique, and there’s no reason to believe Katten will be the exception to that. The best ones impress with personality instead. It’s not unknown for this to succeed. Witney’s one win, with Alfonso Ribeiro, was arguably a case of this succeeding.
But often comedians go out early, even when they aren’t the worst dancers. They can especially have trouble when they don’t necessarily come in with many fans. Katten may bring some in via The Middle, and Witney has some of her own. But The Middle, though certainly a success was never the biggest show on TV, and Katten hasn’t been on that one in years either. He may not bring many supporters in with him at all. Unless he can win them over, these two could be out before they’ve even gotten the chance to do much.
