With the new “Thor” coming in November, & a new “Doctor Strange” too, Benedict Cumberbatch has been making the press rounds, and we are pleased as punch!
Collider recently sat down for an extensive interview with Benedict Cumberbatch, who is having quite the banner year.
In addition to his work as the titular character in Doctor Strange, it’s been previously announced that Benedict Cumberbatch will have a role in The Child In Time, as well as the Showtime limited series Melrose.
But more important than his work as every thinking woman’s dream, Benedict Cumberbatch is making the rounds to talk about the next installment of Doctor Strange, as well as what his role will be in Infinity War and other Marvel movies.
As it turns out, Marvel realized a good thing when they had it (take notes, DCEU), and was always courting Cumberbatch for the role. However, they had to wait until schedules permitted the fates to meet and, ultimately, join.
Cumberbatch told Collider that he was excited to be an integral part of the new phase of Marvel movies, and that we could expect to see more of Doctor Strange in the future.
"“It was great fun to put that costume and persona back on again, so I’m very excited to carry him forward. That’s all I can really say today, you know. But I’m genuinely really, really excited. I’ve got a lot of fun to look forward with the Infinity Wars and I’m sure with his own standalone film again.”"
Cumberbatch then went on to say that while his main goal was to make sure that Marvel was happy with the film — and, needless to say, they were — he was extra pleased that his fans were happy with the film as well.
