Here are 13 Actors We’d Love to see Play Professor X in the X-Men

6. Michael Gambon

Dumbledore himself, Sir Michael Gambon, has proven time and time again that he can take an iconic character and make it his own. Don’t believe me? Go watch Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban. While it took us a while as Harry Potter fans to warm up to him, Michael ended up becoming one of our favorites.

So he would make a great Charles Xavier. First of all he, as an actor, knows what it is like to have fans vehemently love the character he has taken on. With Charles Xavier, he would have to again take on a role made famous by another actor.

For those who don’t remember, Gambon became Dumbledore after Richard Harris had passed away. The beloved actor only made two Harry Potter films before Gambon took on the role and, at first, we were skeptical but he ended up becoming amazing.

For this, it would pretty much be the same thing (except that Patrick Stewart is fine. He is just quitting playing Charles). So Sir Michael Gambon would do a great job as Charles Xavier, in my opinion. And hey, look at that. He already as the title of Sir as well so at least he’s got that going for him.
