Here are 13 Actors We’d Love to see Play Professor X in the X-Men

8. Colin Firth

Another British man who can play the professor and keep the fan boys happy would be Colin Firth. And, to be honest, the fan girls would probably be happy too because he is fun to look at. Colin, who won an Oscar for his work in The King’s Speech, would be a great fit for an older Professor Xavier.

He’s not at the age that Patrick Stewart was when he took on the role but he is older than most our other options so far (except for Helen). But really it isn’t so much about age but rather who can play the part the best. Colin has proven with his work in A Single Man and The King’s Speech that he isn’t just a man who belongs in romantic comedies.

He is a brilliant actor and one that could easily tackle the beloved Charles Xavier. Professor X needs to be loved and we have to care about him and the work that he is doing and with Colin, you always feel that way about the characters that he portrays.

So yes, we’d love to see Colin Firth take on the role. This is one older white man we give our full support too.
