2. James McAvoy

I mean, of course. X-Men: First Class changed the game for the X-Men film franchise. All of us had become a little done with the series and didn’t particularly care anymore. Then we got a glimpse into a younger Professor X (McAvoy) and a younger Magento (Michael Fassbender) and fell in love.

Honestly, James could just continue playing Charles and I’m sure we’d all be fine with it. He’s an incredible actor and that shows with his work in the newer X-Men movies. But the question is will he stay on without Patrick Stewart?

After X-Men: Days of Future Past we got to see both of the Charles Xaviers together. James and Patrick went head to head and it was a pretty amazing thing to see. But now we will always have that image in our heads.

We will always think of those two together so it would be weird to have someone else playing opposite McAvoy. But if James took on the role completely, played both younger Charles and older Charles when he could, it would really work for all us fans.

Honestly watching James as Charles is great so however many more movies we get with him as Professor X is fine by me.
