Watch: Daniel Radcliffe gets stranded in the Amazon in upcoming film ‘Jungle’
Daniel Radcliffe looks unrecognizable in his new role for Jungle, a true story based on Yossi Ghinsberg’s memoir ‘Lost in the Jungle’.
Since the Harry Potter series ended, Radcliffe has been steadily adding to his portfolio and most of his projects have been very odd and sometimes creepy. Last year he played a dead body in Swiss Army Man and before that he was Igor in Victor Frankenstein. And, we can’t forget when his character “Ig Parrish” grew demon horns in Horns a few years ago.
Now, Radcliffe is starring in a new survival based on a memoir. The book, titled Lost in the Jungle, is by Yossi Ghinsberg. According to IMDB, three men go trekking in the Amazon jungle and our led by a shady tour guide. And that spells out D-I-S-A-S-T-E-R.
Here’s a brief description of the plot according to Ghinsberg’s book:
"“Four travelers meet in Bolivia and set off into the heart of the Amazon rain forest, but what begins as a dream adventure quickly deteriorates into a dangerous nightmare, and after weeks of wandering in the dense undergrowth, the four backpackers split up into two groups. But when a terrible rafting accident separates him from his partner, Yossi is forced to survive for weeks alone against one of the wildest backdrops on the planet.Stranded without a knife, map, or survival training, he must improvise shelter and forage for wild fruit to survive. As his feet begin to rot during raging storms, as he loses all sense of direction, and as he begins to lose all hope, he wonders whether he will make it out of the jungle alive. Lost in the Jungle is the story of friendship and the teachings of nature, and a terrifying true account that you won’t be able to put down.”"

So it looks like Daniel Radcliffe’s character will go to hell and back. And we’ll get to watch his sick transformation. He looks severely dehydrated, starved and disease ridden in the trailer. And, he’ll eventually lose his feet. That should be “fun” to watch unfold.
Jungle was directed by Greg McLean and he’s been trending lately for also directing the upcoming horror-thriller The Belko Experiment. Radcliffe will also by joined by Thomas Kretschmann (Avengers: Age of Ultron) and Alex Russell (Chronicle, The Host and Carrie) in his treacherous journey into the Amazon. Joel Jackson and Yasmin Kassim will complete the cast.
Jungle is set to release sometime in 2017.
