Is Lorde releasing brand new music? The Pure Heroine singer teased fans in a mystery video posted on her Twitter.

We’ve missed Lorde on the music scene for a while but the singer just released a new mystery video suggesting new music is on the way! On Monday, the teen queen from New Zealand posted a link to her Twitter account. And, it leads to a short video featuring Lorde sitting in the backseat of a car, drinking from a styrofoam cup and chewing on french fries.

In the background, a piano-backed track plays. Then, the screen flashes “3.2.17 NYC” and “3.3.17 NZ” which are most likely the dates when new music will drop. We can only hope its true.

Lorde hasn’t released an album since Pure Heroine in 2013. The album was a hit with critics and brought us trendy tracks like “Royals” which won a Grammy along with “Tennis Courts” and “Team”.

Lorde is a Creative Genius

Back in November, Lorde posted a note to Facebook saying she was working on something. And, we bet it’s epic. In her note, she opened up about the whirlwind of a year she’s had and how that will inspire her new music:

"“Writing Pure Heroine was my way of enshrining our teenage glory, putting it up in lights forever so that part of me never dies, and this record — well, this one is about what comes next,” she said. “I want nothing more than to spill my guts RIGHT NOW about the whole thing — I want you to see the album cover, pore over the lyrics (the best I’ve written in my life), touch the merch, experience the live show,” she continued. “I can hardly stop myself from typing out the name. I just need to keep working a while longer to make it as good as it can be. You’ll have to hold on. The big day is not tomorrow, or even next month realistically, but soon. I know you understand.”"

We totes understand the long wait. If Lorde is going to make music she’s going to take her time and do it right for the fans. If she plans to top the incredible success of Pure Heroine, then we’ll have to wait for near perfection.
