At any given moment, a witch or wizard could be flying high in the sky on their broomstick. But there’s more to do with them than just take a ride as Pottermore pointed out.
Broomsticks seem to be a quick and convenient way for the young witch or wizard to travel. But instead of having them sit in the corner collecting dust when not in use, there’s plenty of other things to do with your magical broomstick that may surprise you. The full scoop is over at Pottermore, but we’d like to share some of what they came up with.
First off, your broom could act as a handy clothing rack, used to either hang a dress you’re planning to wear the next day, or even hang some wet clothes up to dry. This is especially helpful if you have a small apartment and not a whole lot of space to air dry clothes. Just make sure to wipe up any water puddle that could form.
You could also use your broom as a makeshift way to play with your pets. Try tying a little toy to a string, then tie it to your broom. Your cat will thank you as they chase your broom as it whizzes around the house.
If need be, you could also tie your dog’s leash to your broom and use it to walk him. This comes in handy on those especially lazy Saturdays.
Finally, you could clean with it. This may work better with broomsticks that are past their prime, but you could catch some corner cobwebs on the fibers or just clean up a (preferably) dry spill in the living room.

There’s endless possibilities. What would you do with your broomstick?
