The Independent Spirit Awards, the final event ahead of the Oscars, is here. Let’s check out what the stars wore ahead of tomorrow’s main event.

The Independent Spirit Awards are the final lap for the movie A List crowd, ahead of the Oscars main event. Held the afternoon before at 2pm in LA (so everyone can go home early to prep for the big one) these awards are sort of like the “anti Oscars.” Originally conceived in the 1980s as a way to honor Independent Films (which, at the time, were routinely overlooked by the Oscars) they aim towards awarding those films that are more about art than commerce.

Though times have changed, and now many of those which find themselves honored by the voters of the non-profit organization known as Film Independence, for some in attendance, winning an award here means more than winning one on the biggest stage of them all. It’s also one of those events where those in attendance, rather than dressing for the cameras, dress merely for each other, which makes the red carpet an interesting affair indeed.

With that in mind, let’s check out what the stars wore this afternoon, from the Good, to the Bad to the Ultra Laid Back.
