Tami Taylor – Friday Night Lights
Everybody should look up to Mrs. Coach Taylor. As the matriarch to Dylan Panthers, adoring wife to the head coach, and loving mother to a bratty teen and toddler, Tami Taylor was everything I want to be as a woman. If nothing else, that hair is all the goals I’ll ever need.
About as perfect an archetype for a Southern lady there is, Tami was far from a shrinking violent or a demure belle. She demanded her place in the world, and never, ever put her own goals and ambition behind her husband’s. Except when she did. She made her own choices, and never once felt bound by traditional gender conventions, even when she was performing them.
Tami Taylor was a the best kind of feminist, in that she was accepting and welcoming to every other woman in her life, even when her own values didn’t match up with those she was counseling. Whether it was abortion, juggling a work/life balance, or keeping your husband’s boss happy, she was diplomatic and poised in everything she attempted.
I’ve never seen a woman with a better head of hair, nor have I ever seen a lady rock a pair of aviators and boots like she can. I want to be everything Tami Taylor was. All of it.
