Rogue One: A Star Wars Story Blu-Ray Releases on April 4

If for some unfathomable reason you didn’t see Rogue One: A Star Wars Story in theaters, your time for excuses ends on April 4 when the Blu-ray comes out.

Before Rogue One released in theaters, everyone wondered how this movie would stack up against 2015’s megahit, The Force Awakens. And though Rogue One didn’t do as well, its success is nothing to scoff at. There was a lot of blood in the water before Rogue One hit theaters, but it bounced back well.

And now, it’s time to watch it on repeat from the comfort of your own home.

First announced on the Star Wars Show, Rogue One goes digital on March 24 (only 30 days away) and releases the Blu-ray version on April 4, with a rather nifty cover sleeve.

According to the press release, the release will also feature several bonus features. In addition to closer looks at how each character came to be, we’ll get a behind-the-scenes look at how they transported 19-year-old Princess Leia from 1977 to 2016.

Per Disney’s agreement with Netflix, Rogue One will also probably hit the popular streaming service within a few months, too. For example, The Jungle Book hit theaters in April last year, then became available on Netflix the following November. If the timetable stays the same (with 7 months in between), we can hope / pray / assume that Rogue One: A Star Wars Story shows up on Netflix by this summer.

It’s not that I don’t want to buy the Blu-ray or anything, but Netflix makes it available to everybody and everybody should be forced to watch this movie.

Rogue One prepares for a digital release next month, with a Blu-ray release due for April 4.
