The Katsucon 2017 Cosplay Videos are Basically Goals
Katsucon has come to a close, and new videos from Distractotron are really distracting in that they showcase some amazing work.
Cosplaying is an art at this point. There’s something to be said for the skills it takes to put something together, whether that’s a recreation of an iconic look or a fresh take on a familiar character. Fortunately, it’s garnering more and more attention. Take Katsucon for an example. Distractotron was there, and they took plenty of footage of some killer cosplays.
Check out the two videos they sent us below.
Look, yours truly will never say no to a Fire Emblem Fates cosplay of Camilla. Additionally, it seemed like The Legend of Zelda had its time to shine as well. You can spot both a Breath of the Wild Link and Zelda partway through the video as well as Agitha from Twilight Princess. (Naturally, she had some golden bugs!)
Overwatch also had its day in the sun, with a huge group of cosplayers showing off their work.
Here’s the second video:
Honestly, all of the different takes on Pokémon are seriously impressive. Naturally, the Eeveelutions appeared to be a popular choice. We spotted a Sylveon, a Flareon, and a couple Espeon between the two videos. (You can also see a take on Lillie and Gladion from Pokémon Sun and Moon in the second video.)
With the upcoming Mass Effect: Andromeda, it’s also no surprise that you can see a couple of takes on the iconic N7 Armor between the two videos as well.
There was also room for some more classic characters. One Bowser-inspired look had a really great shell, and someone else did a great take on Princess Peach. Additionally, Final Fantasy fans might enjoy spotting Squall and Rinoa from Final Fantasy VIII — not an obscure choice to be sure, but still different considering the relative popularity of characters like Cloud of VII and Lightning from XIII.
