In the blink of an eye, it’s that time of year, again. The 89th annual Academy Awards are live on Sunday, February 26 at 7 p.m. (EST) on ABC.

The nominees this year range far and wide, and no fight will be easily won. The smash, beloved musical masterpiece La La Land is this year’s top dog, racking up a whopping 14 nominations and tying with classics Titanic  and All About Eve for most nominations received by a single movie. Moonlight trails right behind La La Land with an impressive eight nomination, and Manchester By The Sea with six of its own.

Perhaps most notably, for the first time in history, three black women are nominated for Best Supporting Actress – Viola Davis in Fences, Naomie Harris in Moonlight, and Octavia Spencer in Hidden Figures.

And yet, not all is well with this year’s ceremony. Thanks to President Trump’s attempted Muslim Ban last month, Iranian director Asghar Farhadi, whose film The Salesman is nominated for Best Foreign Language Film, said he would not attend the Oscars, even if he were to be granted an exemption. In part of his full statement, he condemned the divisive action of the President and this country.

"To humiliate one nation with the pretext of guarding the security of another is not a new phenomenon in history and has always laid the groundwork for the creation of future divide and enmity. I hereby express my condemnation of the unjust conditions forced upon some of my compatriots and the citizens of the other six countries trying to legally enter the United States of America and hope that the current situation will not give rise to further divide between nations."

With that in mind, the show will go on.

Here is the complete list of this year’s Oscar nominations.
