Political Draft: 25 Athletes Who Need To Run For Office
Stephen Curry
Stephen Curry is a point guard for the Golden State Warriors. He has jersey number 30, and he’s number 114 on FanSided’s Fandom 250.
Charity work is important to Currry. He went to Tanzania in 2012 with the United Nation’s Nothing But Nets program. They distribute bed nets to prevent malaria, a cheap and effective solution to an endemic burden. In 2015, he spoke at the White House for the President’s Malaria Initiative.
Curry is the national spokesperson for the ThanksUSA golf tournament. Their goal is “providing college, technical and vocational school, need-based scholarships for the children and spouses of U.S. military personnel.” He and his dad also host the Curry Celebrity Classic Golf Tournament, which supports the Ada Jenkins Center in Davidson, North Carolina.
Currently, Steph Curry is a young and winning athlete, and he is still planning on finishing his degree at Davidson College. So I’m not expecting him to run in 2020. But whenever he’s ready? Curry is charismatic and super-electable, and has a built-in fan base. And don’t we all want Riley to be able to live in the White House? Think of the photos that will come from the Curry White House!
