Grant Hill

Grant Hill is a retired NBA small forward who played for Detroit, Orlando, Phoenix and L.A. Since 2013, he’s been the host of NBA TV’s NBA Inside Stuff and and NBA analyst for Turner Sports.

Hill graduated from Duke with a double major in political science and history, while playing for the championship winning Blue Devils. His charity work is extensive. He also is an avid patron of African-American art; you can even check out his fantastic collection online.

Grant Hill is a long-time Democrat. His mom was close friends with Hillary Clinton at Wellesley College. Bill Clinton called him when he was drafted to the NBA. He also appeared on the campaign trail many times for John Kerry (swoon) in 2004 and Obama in 2008, and of course for Hillary in 2016. This is the story he told to the audience at a Women of Color for Hillary rally.

"My mother grew up in the segregated South, in New Orleans, Louisiana. She left to go to college, and when she left, she’d never had any meaningful conversation or interaction with anybody white. She ended up going to Wellesley College right outside Boston, Massachusetts, and when she got there, she hated it… And she befriended a young lady from outside Chicago, who stayed in the dorm room right next to her dorm room, and that was Hillary Rodham. Back then, it wasn’t really popular for someone white to befriend someone Black in the early 60s. But my mom befriended her, and Hillary had compassion, had understanding for my mother, Janet Hill, and really helped fight for my mother to get through Wellesley."

We need good Democrats to run for office in North Carolina, Florida and Arizona. I don’t know if Grant Hill has political aspirations, but he should. He is just so electable.
