Apple on Wednesday unveiled two upgraded versions of its iPhone and a new waterproof smartwatch, seeking to reignite growth for the iconic technology maker. The iPhone 7 and larger iPhone 7 Plus, with new camera technology, 50-meter water resistance and other features, were the highlight of an Apple media event in San Francisco.

Mobile phone

Everyone has one, everyone takes them everywhere, and perhaps nothing is a more appropriate symbol of our day to day lives than the device that connects us to every other human being on the planet. Bringing together social media, gaming, exercise, entertainment, communication, news, and so much more, your average phone seems such an apt Monopoly piece that it boggles the mind as to why it isn’t one already.

Of course, if we’re adding a mobile phone, we have to ask: Android or iPhone? And what model? While I’m tempted to suggest the Samsung Galaxy Note 7 as a bit of a joke, it defeats the purpose of trying to keep with the times. The best bet is just to make the piece a sleek, rounded rectangle, perhaps with some vague icons etched into its surface to indicate apps. Unless, of course, Apple wants to sponsor the piece. In that case, we can settle for a nice, iconic apple right on the back, making the mobile phone recognizable for years to come.
