Stephen Colbert vs Seth Meyers: The Turmoil in the Trump Administration

Stephen Colbert and Seth Meyers seem to unintentionally be going head to head recently covering Trump stories. So who did it best?

Between Stephen Colbert and Seth Meyers, Trump has no chance. The two have been taking him down night after night and now it seems to be a battle between who has a better take on the same story. Not to say it is a battle really, just that Meyers and Colbert are both hitting the hard stories.

With Seth, his take is always pretty straight forward. He gives us the news and then makes some joke about what is going on in our country. There really isn’t much deviation from his A Closer Look segments. And there doesn’t really need to be.

It works as it is. Just Seth giving us facts and then his own take on them. It makes hearing this news just a little bit easier.

With Colbert, his approach is a little more calculated. And it doesn’t have the ease that Seth’s does. Not because Colbert is doing anything drastically different but just because that’s how Colbert is. His sets almost give us a fear that Meyers lacks. Not in a bad way, Meyers is just more information and joke while Colbert makes sure we know exactly how dire the situation is.

Much like the battle between the two yesterday, it isn’t really about who is better but rather how you’d like to feel after getting this information. Do you want to be afraid of what’s to come or do you want to laugh and know what’s happening?

Either way, both are giving us information that many are not and we appreciate their honesty and their willingness to give us what we need.
