Hannah apparently showed up for work in her pyjama top assuming that there would be an outfit for her, and discovered in fact there was not. She’s making the best of it, I suppose. The real preview is the runway set up everyone will be showing on in Part 2 of the finale. Aya, Kelly and Christian are all here. There are no extra guest judges to confuse the judges who have already made up their minds before seeing the collection.

Tieler: Outfit one looks like a nurse’s uniform with a vase of flowers stuck on the chest. Closer up is more flattering, because the embroidery is very pretty. Outfit two looks like a Khols super sale clothing covered in window dressing. Tieler admits he didn’t do the embroidery, and excuses it by claiming he’s supporting local artists. Aya and Hannah overlook this to delicately find reasons to excuse his dead simple and unadventurous silhouettes. Christian is more willing to be critical, pointing out that all the fashion forward work they loved from Tieler is missing, and that these are just boring.

Hawaa: Outfit one looks like the back of a playing card with a badly sized collar–from the front. The back looks like she’s actually Two Face from Batman. Is it noticeable to the judges that the pant legs are slightly different lengths? Outfit two is the “ringmaster” outfit that looks like a weird southern belle and steampunk mashup, with circus colors. Aya manages to sneer that it’s juvenile while sounding positive. Hannah manages to sneer it’s not sophisticated in the same way. Meanwhile Christian and Kelly, who pushed for her to get here, are less damning with faint praise.

To be fair, after nearly 90 minutes the judges are fairly convincing that they are torn over which of the two contestants to put through that was missing last week when it was obvious they wanted to force Tieler though but could not. I suppose they have to be, since the episode is supersized. And then,. just as I expected Hawwaa to go home and Tieler to stay, Project Runway: Junior manages to delight me, and send his ass packing. (Hannah tellingly cries.) Hawwaa is through to the finale! Where she won’t win, but that’s not important right now! She’s still through, and all is right with the world. Next week: the real finale of Project Runway: Junior.
