With the new version of Beauty and the Beast just about a month away from release, these new images have us more excited than ever for the film.
Although it seems like we have been expecting Beauty and the Beast for approximately forever, we do happen to be closing in on the last month of waiting. In order to help ramp up the hype, Entertainment Weekly has released several new photos for fans to salivate over.
First up, we have Belle dealing with Gaston, presumably from the early part of the film. Check out all of those different fabrics and patterns in her costume, including the touches of red. Also, we can’t help but notice that Belle has a necklace on. It’s tough to see the pendant, but it could end up being significant in the movie.
It looks like the live-action movie has captured some of the starkness of the wintry scenes from the animated film. As noted in the caption from the Twitter user, the only color really comes from the splashes of Belle’s dress, further pulling the focus onto her.
Belle will actually have multiple costumes throughout the film. Take a look at the details on her bodice, which look to be roses. Try not to trip over the symbolism of said roses. Additionally, we have another look at the backs of Cogsworth and Lumiere. All of the details on Cogsworth especially are fascinating, including how his back looks somewhat aged under the gilt.
Finally, we have another look at perhaps the most iconic look from the animated film.
We’re talking about the ballgown.
The skirt looks appropriately poofy. We approve. Additionally, look at all of the detail in the environment around them. Honestly, the castle itself feels like it’s a character of its own with all of the decor it sports in this live-action version.
