Marvel’s Cloak and Dagger Adds More Stars To Its All-Star Cast

The cast of the much-anticipated Marvel’s Cloak & Dagger has been expanded to include more stars to the all-star cast, including Gloria Reuben!

Following the news that Olivia Holt was cast as Tandy Bowen, and Aubrey Joseph was cast as Tyrone Joseph, The Marvel Report has confirmed that additional stars have been added to the all-star cast for the much-anticipated Freeform show.

Marvel’s Cloak & Dagger, according to the official announcement, has added the following cast members to its lineup.

• Gloria Reuben, who is best known for her work on E.R., and for her portrayal as Condoleeza Rice in the New York Public Theater’s production of “Stuff Happens,” has signed on for the role of Adina Johnson, Tyrone’s mother.
• Miles Mussenden, who has been making waves on the hit show Queen Sugar, plays Tyrone’s father, who “does what it takes to keep the family safe.”
• James Saito, whom we last saw in Life of Pi, plays Tyrone’s mentor, Dr. Bernard Sanjo.
• Finally, J.D. Evermore, whom The Walking Dead fans will immediately recognize, rounds out Marvel’s Cloak & Dagger cast as Detective Connors.

If nothing else, the lede of Marvel’s Cloak & Dagger proves to be quite interesting. From the casting announcement:

"“Marvel’s Cloak & Dagger is a coming-of-age series based on the beloved comic characters. Tandy Bowen (Olivia Holt) and Tyrone Johnson (Aubrey Joseph) come from starkly different backgrounds, each growing up with a secret they never dared share with another soul.”"

The show will have Joe Pokaski as the showrunner, while Joseph Loeb and Jim Chory have come on board as additional executive producers. The show has already tapped some interesting people for the director’s chair, such as Gina Prince-Bythewood, who last sat in the chair for Love & Basketball. Prince-Bythewood will be directing the first episode of the series.
