Feud: Bette and Joan’s Trailer Sets the Scene for Drama
Feud: Bette and Joan not only has Susan Sarandon and Jessica Lange, it also has plenty of drama and a great cast to go with it.
It seems like it’s been forever since FX had one of Ryan Murphy’s shows on the air. American Horror Story: Roanoke wrapped up at the end of last year, and American Crime Story won’t return until next year, per Variety. However, the drought will soon end, just with a new show: Feud. As with the other two series on FX, it’s another anthology. The first season, therefore, has the name of Feud: Bette and Joan, as in Davis and Crawford.
Today, the show released a new trailer to Twitter:
The tweet comes with the caption of “They hated each other. And we loved them for it,” which seems to us to show that Feud knows what we’re here for: Susan Sarandon and Jessica Lange as Davis and Crawford, sparks of dislike flying between them every time they share the screen.
Of course, we also have a look at Catherine Zeta-Jones as Olivia de Havilland, and you can spot Stanley Tucci as well in the trailer. Notably, Zeta-Jones delivers a discussion about the nature of feuds in the trailer: “Feuds are never about hate. Feuds are about pain.”
Naturally, the trailer immediately cuts to Davis kicking Crawford in the head on the set of the movie they filmed together, What Ever Happened to Baby Jane? Granted, we think de Havilland was talking about emotional and mental pain, but we can’t say no to a comedic cut.
