12 Reasons to Watch, Re-Watch, and Love Yuri on Ice
9. The Ending Credits
Did we not promise that we would talk about the ending credits? First, we’ll discuss the general ending credits, then discuss the two special sets. Just in the regular credits, though, we get to scroll through photos from all of the skaters’ social media accounts, again reflecting how important the show’s knockoff of Instagram in particular is actually important.
Also, we get to see our three main characters dancing with sparklers.
Now, though, we get to the spoilers of the series. Those who don’t wish to know may want to just skip to the next slide now.
Spoilers!
Episodes 10 and 12 have special ending credit scenes. For episode 10, we finally get to see last year’s Grand Prix Final banquet. In the show, it turns out that Yuri ended up drinking too much, asked Victor to become his coach, and also put on a dance show. All we’re going to say beyond that is that there was a lot of champagne involved.
Then, episode 12, which brings the first season, actually has Victor and Yuri performing together on the ice for the first time to “Stammi Vicino,” which Victor had used in one of his programs the previous season, but in a duet form. As the show’s unofficial wiki translates, the title would be “Stay Close to Me” in English.
