The 100 Season 4 Episode 2 “Heavy Lies The Crown:” Shocking Moments

facebooktwitterreddit

The second episode of The 100 season 4 “Heavy Lies The Crown” did not disappoint. Here are my shocking moments that left me questioning what happens next.

After the first episode of The100 S4, I was fairly confident that it couldn’t get any better. I was wrong. Check out my full recap of “Heavy Lies The Crown” here and then follow along for the moments that left me shocked!

Literally everyone hates Skaikru.

What did Skaikru ever do to you!? Why is it always Skaikru against the world? Are we ever going o get to a time where Skaikru is actually accepted as the thirteenth clan?

In every episode, we meet yet another character who despises our good people from space. This week, it was Raphael and his squad from Trishanakru. This includes Ilian who murdered his family under the influence of the chip. If we’re blaming anyone here, it’s Jaha, but why does his entire clan have to be guilty by association?

Everyone hates Skaikru but especially Ice Nation, and we saw a lot of that this week. The people who moved into Farm Station were shocked that King Roan gave Bellamy a seal of protection to keep them safe. But also, a lot of Ice Nation seems to despise King Roan as well.

Bellamy’s Redemption Arc.

Bellamy to Clarke as he’s leaving for Farm Station: “We save who we can save today.”

Bellamy to Brian when they find out Ice Nation moved into Farm Station: “We didn’t come here to fight.”

Bellamy explaining why they didn’t bring home the hydro-generator: “I had a choice. Bring the machine home or use it to save them.”

I am not sacrificing anymore innocent lives.

I made the call and I’ll live with it.”

I think this is where Bellamy’s redemption arc begins. It’s no surprise that his character had a few “hiccups” last season. Yknow, slaughtering an innocent army and things like that. But it seems as though this season, he’s already redeeming himself.

When they go to Farm Station and see that Ice Nation is keeping slaves, it becomes a decision to either grab the hydro-generator and bring it back to Arkadia or to blow up the joint with the hydrazine in the hydro-generator and save the slaves. The vote becomes 2 v. 2 and Bellamy breaks the tie. He chooses to save the slaves.

I’m not the chief.” & “I’m not the chancellor.”

Whether you ship Princess Mechanic romantically or not, you have to admit the serious friend chemistry between Clarke and Raven. The girls have been to hell and back together. They’ve survived a love triangle. They’ve cheated death. They’ve fought… a lot. Yet there’s this certain level of respect and admiration between the two that basically comes in clutch season after season, and I think season 4 will be no different.

"“For what it’s worth, there’s nobody I trust more to do this than you.”"

Sinclair is dead. Kane and Abby are off in Polis enjoying their luxury fur sheet set. And Jaha is a bonehead. That leaves Clarke and Raven back at Arkadia to deal with everything. Raven needs to step up as chief engineer and Clarke needs to step up as chancellor. Like usual. In the end, the two will somehow figure out a way to save the world. Together.

Honorable Mentions (also known as where I get a little extra about all of the characters):

  • Kabby gettin’ BUSY. Finally.
  • I am 100% here for the dynamic between Octavia and Kane right now. Raise your hand if you definitely thought Octavia was going all ‘lone wolf’ this season. This is where I would insert the gif from “Mean Girls” when they’re all asked if they’ve been personally victimized by Regina George. I thought Octavia was done with the people from the Ark, yet here she is, killing for them. Her and Kane are Skaikru vigilantes and I’m absolutely digging it.
  • Monty’s smile once he came up with a plan to save people from radiation literally could heal a broken heart I think. Also, Monty is my new favorite character. Along with Riley.
  • Is Brian and Miller the only LGBT representation we’re going to see this season? They seem to be focusing on it more, especially during this episode. Don’t get me wrong, I love them, but I’d also like to see some lady love.
  • Can Monty and Jasper be friends again?
  • WHAT IS ON THE SEAL THAT ROAN GAVE THEM?
  • On a scale of 1-about a million, how many quotes were repurposed in this episode that have been said over the past 3 seasons? I’m going to go with, about a million.
  • Jaha is rocking that bald head.
  • WHO THE F*CK IS RILEY AND WHY DOES EVERYONE KNOW HIM?
  • I could honestly watch Echo and Roan sword fight until the day I die. Also, Tasya Teles (Echo) should wear leather pants all the time I think.
  • Is it going to come back and bite Roan in the ass that he told Echo why he’s helping Skaikru?
  • Is it weird that I lowkey ship Ilian and Octavia together?
  • I just really want Clarke’s jacket. Where can I find that?
  • Raphael called Octavia a little girl so she shoved a blade in his ear and I kind of loved it.
  • Also, where does Octavia get off wearing a tank top that makes her arms look so damn good?
  • Why do I feel like Echo and Octavia are going to form some sort of alliance?
  • Clarke went PUBLIC.
