“Marvel’s Agents of SHIELD” Season 4 Episode 14 Synopsis: “The Man Behind The Shield”

As “Agents of SHIELD” works towards the end of its fourth season, SHIELD itself seems to be unraveling yet again in its attempts to save the Director.

Agents of SHIELD‘s fourth season ramps up the action yet again. Last week’s episode ended on a bit of a sour note, with Agnes betraying the SHIELD team (and then immediately dying), leaving Coulson no closer to finding Melinda May. He only knows that she’s still alive.

Oh, and did we mention that the Watch Dogs and Russians have Director Mace as their prisoner? That’s probably not good.

Here’s the official synopsis, courtesy of ABC:

"Mace fights for his life while Coulson and team find themselves in a deadly cat-and-mouse game as they attempt his rescue."

We’ve already given our thoughts on what exactly might happen to Director Mace. While Agents of SHIELD probably won’t kill off the PR Director, that is still a great possibility. And it leaves the stakes pretty darn high for our SHIELD team to find him before he’s either tortured to death or takes another bout of serum to escape, which ends up exploding his heart.

He’s walking a very fine line.

The synopsis also has no mention of the team’s hunt for May. But with their Director behind enemy lines (and not in a good way), they have a higher priority to tend to.

Besides, trying to find the Director will get them in close proximity to Dr. Radcliffe, and they know May can’t be too far away from him. Maybe they can be like Jack Donaghy and get two birds with one stone.

They won’t leave May hanging in limbo forever. Not if Phil Coulson can help it.
