Adele Breaks her Grammy in Half to Share it With Beyoncé

The battle between who would win out of Adele and Beyoncé took over the Grammys last night but the Hello singer pulled a Mean Girls move on us all.

The win for Adele’s album 25 was one that many seem to be questioning come morning. For someone like me, I was fine with either winning because I love both albums for different reasons. But if you look at the Grammys track record with Beyoncé, she should have won years ago if not last night as well.

While fans got angry and people started to curse the Recording Academy, Adele decided to do what no other artist who won over Beyoncé has done before. She stood up, basically told the Grammys that her win was wrong, and had them break her Grammy Award in half so she could give part of it to Beyoncé.

If any other artist had done this, if Taylor Swift had gotten up and cried and broke her Grammy, I don’t think it would have been as sincere as Adele’s plea was. She is just one of those artists who wants to do amazing work and doesn’t try and make her public persona something she isn’t.

Look at her tribute to George Michael. It wasn’t about her, she wanted it to be perfect for George. So the breaking of her Best Album of the Year Grammy just seemed to give us a friendship between Adele and Beyoncé we didn’t know we needed.

Maybe this will mean that one day, we’ll have a team up of sorts with the two. That’d make everyone happy really. Just Beyoncé and Adele, singing the world to peace for all. And who knows, maybe one of these days the Grammys will realize their racism problem and properly award Beyoncé as she should have been years ago!
