11 Worst Grammy Snubs of All Time

If anyone ever needed to be reminded that commercial success and popularity has very little to do with the Grammys, take a look at the 57th Annual Grammy Awards in 2015. This will go down in Grammy history as the year that Beck beat Beyonce for Album of the Year.
For the sake of context, let’s take a quick review: It’s 2013 and not a single rumor has been circulating about an upcoming Beyonce album. Queen Bey had just given birth to her first daughter, Blue Ivy, the year before and it was assumed that she was taking a break to relish in her first years of motherhood while also focusing on her live performances. And then BAM! It’s December 13, 2013, and suddenly, there’s a new Beyonce album on iTunes. No marketing, no press releases, no announcements whatsoever. It’s just there, a simple black cover with BEYONCE in pink letters.
Oh but that wasn’t all. There were videos. No, Beyonce didn’t just release an album; she released a work of art. This audio-visual synergistic creation was an exhibition of sex, love, and feminism featuring her husband and her daughter. And she kept the whole thing a secret.
But then the Grammys come along and Beyonce’s groundbreaking album was considered a shoo-in for Album of the Year. Instead, the award went to Beck’s Morning Phase. If you thought the Internet battle over that white/gold-blue/back dress was bad, try googling “Beyonce and Beck.”
