Beyoncé vs Adele? Or Someone else?
The Song of the Year and Record of the Year categories are likely going to go to Beyoncé or Adele. But is there an opportunity for someone to upset?
Song Of The Year
The Nominees
“Formation” — Khalif Brown, Asheton Hogan, Beyoncé Knowles & Michael L. Williams II, songwriters (Beyoncé)
“Hello” — Adele Adkins & Greg Kurstin, songwriters (Adele)
“I Took A Pill In Ibiza” — Mike Posner, songwriter (Mike Posner)
“Love Yourself” — Justin Bieber, Benjamin Levin & Ed Sheeran, songwriters (Justin Bieber)
“7 Years” — Lukas Forchhammer, Stefan Forrest, Morten Pilegaard & Morten Ristorp, songwriters (Lukas Graham)
Who Could Upset?
So we’re pretty sure Beyoncé or Adele will win, but let’s not count out Justin Bieber whose song “Lose Yourself” could upset the assumptions and take home Song of the Year, which is an award focused mostly on songwriting. Grammy-darling Ed Sheeran co-wrote the song with Bieber and we can all probably admit that it’s a great song.
Record Of The Year
The Nominees
“Hello” — Adele
“Formation” — Beyoncé
“7 Years” — Lukas Graham
“Work” — Rihanna Featuring Drake
“Stressed Out” — Twenty One Pilots
Who Will Win
If neither Beyoncé nor Adele manage to grab Record of the Year, it could be because of an upset by Rihanna and Dake’s “Work”. The track was nominated within its genre and Rihanna picked up a nomination for Best Urban Contemporary Album for Anti–an amazing album. If anyone could take this win from Beyoncé and Adele, it’s Rihanna.
