Another dynamite entry on this list is Eric Clapton, who delivers some of the best guitar solos around. Obviously, he doesn’t shred an electric all the time, but really strums away on his soul. Known for big hits like “Change the World” (above), “Layla” and “Tears of Heaven”, which was recorded after his son died in 1991. Plus, he also enjoyed a lot of success as a member of the rock band Cream.

In addition to his dozens of Grammys, Clapton has been inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame three times. Obviously, the first two times were with his respective bands, The Yardbirds and Cream. Then, his third followed as a solo artist. Of course, he’s the only artist in the world who enjoys this title of three-time inductee.

With a combination of rock, blues and the funky kind of psychedelic that leaves you in a trance, Clapton may very well be one of the most wide-ranging artists on this list.
