13 Easy Boozy Snacks For Your Grammy Award-Watching Party
Boozy Saucy Wings and Veggies
I present to you two variations on America’s favorite party snack: orange Hennessy wings and bourbon apple glazed wings.
The Henny wing sauce has a lot of ingredients, but do not fear! They all go in one pot, and most are non-scary spices (ha ha) like granulated onion and garlic.
- chili sauce (or ketchup)
- mustard
- garlic
- yellow or sweet onion
- Hennessy
- orange juice
- orange marmalade
- brown sugar
- crushed red pepper flakes
- honey
- apple cider vinegar
- soy sauce
- smoked paprika
- Worcestershire
- granulated garlic, to taste
- granulated onion, to taste
- black pepper, to taste
Resha also calls for a few dashes of liquid smoke, but says you can skip it. I’d skip it. That is a weird product. You’re already using nice naturally smoked paprika.
This recipe for Bourbon apple glazed wings is from Maker’s Mark, one of the few manufacturers of adult beverages whose website has actual food recipes featuring their product as an ingredient. Most just have recipes for cocktails, or recipes for food you can pair with your drink. Well done Maker’s Mark! I hope others follow your lead. Anyway, this glaze includes:
- Maker’s Mark® Bourbon (no way!)
- frozen apple juice concentrate, thawed (12 ounces)
- soy sauce
- cider vinegar
- dark brown sugar
- garlic
- salt
- crushed red pepper
- maple syrup
Want to mix it up to create veggie versions? Glazes and BBQ sauce are delectable on baked or fried tofu or cauliflower florets. Make double recipes of the orange Hennessy and apple bourbon glazes and use it to coat the cauli or tofu. You might eat as many of these as the wings. Sometimes it’s not so hard to go veg, huh? You may find yourself making this for the next meatless Monday dinner.
