“I feel like people are kind of confused about gender norms. I feel like people don’t really get it. I’m not saying that I get it, I’m just saying that I’ve never seen any distinction. I don’t see man clothes and woman clothes, I just see scared people and comfortable people.“
The son of Will Smith, Jaden Smith is pursing a similar path as his father, making his debut in 2006 film “The Pursuit of Happyness.” Along with acting, Smith also expresses himself through his rap music. Although he’s known for a multitude of talents, there’s one thing in particular that puts him on this list of mine.
The Man in the Skirt.
Jaden Smith is a fashion icon. He’s not a man in transition, as in he’s not transgender. He’s not a man wearing clothes that can be worn by either gender. He’s not a man wearing clothes inspired by women. He’s just a man who likes to wear female clothes- like skirts. “I like wearing super drapey things so I can feel as though I’m a super hero,” he says in an interview with GQ, and we feel as though Jaden Smith is the gender bulldozing superhero we all need right now.
