Queen Elizabeth II celebrates her Sapphire Jubilee today, making her the longest running British monarch of all time! She’s been on the throne for 65 years!

Queen Elizabeth II has become a beloved figure throughout the world and today she celebrates her Sapphire Jubilee! For those who don’t know, that means that she’s the longest reigning British monarch. She’s been on the throne for the last 65 years.

And what a time it has been! We all love her and it seems as if she will forever be one of the greatest around. After all, what other monarch has a show that paints them in such a positive light like The Crown does? (Come on, Tudors did nothing to make us think differently about Henry VIII.)

But it isn’t even about that, Elizabeth has just been through so much throughout her life and to see her continue to reign is something extremely special. And she is just an amazing woman. There are no official arrangements for the celebration and the Queen is set to celebrate the event privately in her home in Norfolk.

She has been sick recently but we hope that today she feels well enough to properly celebrate this momentous occasion. She is the first after all and we wouldn’t want anyone else in the role! Elizabeth is an amazing woman and we’re lucky to have her ruling.

There was a 41 gun salute earlier today in London for the celebration but the Queen herself was not there. She is having her own party as she should!

Congrats Elizabeth! Here is to 65 more years on the throne! We love you and we don’t want a season of The Crown when you’re not longer ruling. We hope you celebrate in whatever way you want, you deserve it.
